The 65 Reasons to Love Your Library list was conceived and developed by TLA's Public Relations Committee under the leadership of Sue Haas and the toolkit was created by the committee under the leadership of Dee Brock. Texas libraries are encouraged to use these materials in developing local promotional campaigns.

Three Cheers for libraries!
Don’t you just love ’em?

The 65 Reasons to Love Your Library PR kit provides tools to help you create a local campaign around some of the most important contributions your library makes to your community.

65 Reasons Toolkit (PDF): This document contains a letter-sized flyer with the 65 Reasons, sample press releases, and suggestions and tips for creating your PR campaign. Many of these pages are also linked on this site as separate files.

  • Suggested Uses

  • Press Materials: Use these releases, proclamations, and letterhead to support your LYL campaign. This section also includes tips for working with the media.
  • Graphics Support: Posters, flyers, and stickers can be printed -- and, in some cases, customized -- to use for your library PR. These materials are in development and will be available soon.

Feel free to adapt these elements so that they fit your library and your needs. Please let us know how you used the kit and any suggestions you have for improving the materials. You can send your comments to gloriam@txla.org.
