School Administrators Conference
TLA's School Administrators Conference was initially inspired by First Lady Laura Bush's June 2002 White House Conference on School Libraries. Held as an invitation-only event within the Texas Library Association annual conference, the TLA School Administrators Conference provides an opportunity for superintendents, principals, directors, and academic deans to learn about the important connections between effective school library programs and student success.
The TLA School Administrators Conference inspires, informs, and incites change in the ways Texas schools leverage libraries to engage students, support teachers, advance learning, and prepare well rounded learners for the future. Nationally recognized speakers will address the potential impact of effective school library programs on student achievement, examine critical elements of successful library programs, provide supporting resources and materials, and define a clear, practical call to action for educators to support, grow, and promote school libraries within their own spheres of influence. Woven throughout the conference are opportunities for open dialogue with other educators to guide implementation of explored approaches at the local level.
The 2017 School Administrators Conference will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Antonio.
