Texas-Mexico Relations Committee

Texas-Mexico Librarian Exchange Program 1997

In October, 1996 TMR was awarded a grant from the Fideicomiso Para La Cultura Mexico-USA (Fund for Culture Mexico-USA) for $9,750.00 dollars. Located in Mexico City, the Fideicomiso is funded by three sponsors: the Bancomer Cultural Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, and Mexico's National Fund for Culture and the Arts. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial support to projects that encourage mutual collaboration and dialog between specialists in both countries in a wide variety of artistic, cultural and intellectual areas, including libraries. In 1992 the grant was awarded to SALALM for an Internship program for Mexican Librarians (Seminar for the Acquisition of Latin American Materials).
