All Conference Read

The TLA 2021 All Conference Read selection is Bluebird, Bluebird by Texas’ own Attica Locke.

Attendees registered by March 11 will be eligible to receive one of 750 complimentary copies of the book. Books will be sent the week of March 15.

Join us for All Conference Read activities:

  • A Twitter “Fast Chat” on April 8 on TLA’s Twitter page, @TXLA. Our ACR hashtag is #TLAReads21. We’ll post several questions over the course of an hour for discussion.
  • A Twitter “Slow Chat” from April 12 to 17, where we post a #TLAReads21 question once each day, @TXLA.
  • Several dedicated chat room times during our TLA 2021 Annual Conference, April 22 to 24.

Closing Keynote/All Conference Read, LIVE!, 3-4 p.m. on April 24.

ATTICA LOCKE will join us at conference for our closing keynote session! She is a novelist, screenwriter and Edgar Award winner for Bluebird, Bluebird. Her latest novel Heaven, My Home is its sequel. Her third novel Pleasantville was the winner of the Harper Lee Prize for Legal Fiction and was also long-listed for the Bailey’s Prize for Women’s Fiction. The Cutting Season was the winner of the Ernest Gaines Award for Literary Excellence. Her first novel Black Water Rising was nominated for an Edgar Award, an NAACP Image Award, as well as a Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and was short-listed for the Women’s Prize for Fiction.
