Public Libraries Division Stipend

Stipends are available to qualified applicants employed at Texas public libraries to assist with costs associated with attending the TLA Annual Conference.

The Public Libraries Division of the Texas Library Association awards 10 scholarships (stipends) to qualified applicants who are librarians and other library professionals currently or formerly employed by a Texas library. The stipends will cover the cost of membership for 2021 and conference registration. We thank Biblionix for their sponsorship of one of the stipends.

The stipends are available for public library employees who have not attended a TLA Conference before. The stipend will provide recipients with membership in TLA and registration for this year’s virtual conference.

The purpose of the PLD Scholarship is to encourage TLA and PLD membership, to advance the goals and objectives of the Association, and to provide the means for supporting participation in TLA.

To qualify for the PLD Scholarship/Conference Stipend, you must be currently or formerly employed by a Texas Public Library. Although there are no educational prerequisites or restrictions, you must be committed to future participation in TLA & PLD.
