Public Libraries Division Stipend

Stipends are available to qualified applicants employed at Texas public libraries to assist with costs associated with attending the TLA Annual Conference.

The Public Libraries Division of the Texas Library Association will award 2 stipends for $800, $400 will be awarded prior to conference and the additional $400 awarded after a report about the experience is submitted after conference, to qualified applicants who are librarians and other library professionals currently or formerly employed by a Texas library. The stipend will cover conference registration and a portion of travel expenses. We thank Biblionix for their sponsorship.

The stipend is available to public library employees who have not attended a TLA Conference before. The stipend will provide recipients registration for the TLA 2023 conference and cover a portion of travel expenses.

The purpose of the PLD Scholarship is to encourage TLA and PLD membership, to advance the goals and objectives of the Association, and to provide the means for supporting participation in TLA.

To qualify for the PLD Conference Stipend, you must be currently or formerly employed by a Texas Public Library. Although there are no educational prerequisites or restrictions, you must be committed to future participation in TLA & PLD.

Applications and Letters of recommendation must be received by 2/6/2023.

Please apply here.
