Distinguished Service

Honors a librarian who demonstrates superlative leadership and service to the library field.

The Texas Library Association Distinguished Service Award is presented to a librarian who has demonstrated substantial leadership in the profession, and provided outstanding services in one or more areas of the library profession.

Congratulations to Dr. Ana Cleveland and Ted Wanner, the 2021 recipients of TLA’s Distinguished Service Award.

Dr. Ana D. Cleveland, Regents Professor in the Department of Information Science at the University of North Texas, was recognized with the Texas Library Association’s Distinguished Service Award. She accepted the award in this video, below:

Ted Wanner, recently retired from his longtime position as Director of Education and Member Services for the Texas Library Association, was recognized with TLA’s Distinguished Service Award. He accepted the award in this video, below.

 

Any TLA member may nominate a deserving librarian for consideration. Nominees must be TLA members. Nominations open September 15 and close February 14. All nominations must be submitted through the online form.
