Distinguished Service

Honors a librarian who demonstrates superlative leadership and service to the library field.

The Texas Library Association Distinguished Service Award is presented to a librarian who has demonstrated substantial leadership in the profession, and provided outstanding services in one or more areas of the library profession.

Congratulations to Marty Rossi, the 2022 recipient of TLA’s Distinguished Service Award.

For many years, Marty has provided excellent library services and supported and encouraged other librarians. She has been a devoted mentor to many. Her roles at TLA have included Representative at Large on the TLA Executive Board, Chair of the TLA Diversity and Inclusion Committee, co-founder of Teacher Day @TLA, Chair of the School Administrator Conference, and President of the Bexar County Library Association. She has also served on the TASL Administrator of the Year committee and the Legislative and Advocacy committee.

Any TLA member may nominate a deserving librarian for consideration. Nominees must be TLA members. Nominations open September 15 and close January 31. All nominations must be submitted through the online form.
