The Texas Library Association’s Librarian of the Year Award is given to a librarian who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership and service within the library community over the past 12 – 18 months. Librarians at any stage in their careers, from all library types, are eligible for this award.
Any TLA member may nominate a librarian for consideration. Nominees must be TLA members. Nominations for the 2027 Librarian of the Year Award will open September 15, 2026.

Up to five letters will be accepted from those closely associated with the individual or project (i.e. supervisors, administrators, colleagues, library users, mayor, council members, board members, etc.).
Materials that best represent the nominated individual or project such as: resumes; photos, videos or news articles; promotional materials; published articles; professional honors, etc.
For digital materials, JPG and PDF formats are preferred. Compiling all of the supporting information into one, single PDF is ideal.
