The TLA Small Community Libraries Round Table (SCLRT) recognizes outstanding advocates who go above and beyond to ensure that small community libraries throughout Texas have the best library services available. This is a chance for librarians to honor those individuals or groups who, through advocacy, fundraising, or library volunteerism, have made a difference to the library in their communities. For the purposes of this award, a small library is defined as one with a population served of under 25,000.

Qualifications

The honoree must have contributed to a the betterment of a library in one of the following ways:

  • In some way have advocated for the benefit of a small library.
  • Played an instrumental role in fundraising efforts to benefit a small library.
  • Contributed significantly to a small library through volunteerism.

Submitting a Nomination

Anyone can nominate an individual, group, or organization for Small Community Library Advocate as long as they meet the few qualifications listed above.

Please prepare a document containing narrative information about your nominee, including why the individual, group, or organization should be considered for the Small Community Library Advocate Award. Remember to cover such aspects as library advocacy, fundraising efforts, and library volunteerism.
