Reality: Reopening School Libraries
October 20, 2020 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
With schools across Texas now open – some fully virtual, some as a hybrid of in-person and virtual, and some fully in-person, librarians are meeting the new and varied demands of education in the COVID-19 era with resourcefulness. A great deal of planning happened over the past few months to try to prepare for this new school year. But how does reopening look in reality? What parts of the plan worked, what didn’t, how have librarians had to continue to pivot and evolve?
Marcy Sparks, Library Services Coordinator, Socorro ISD; Mary Woodard, Director of Library Services, Mesquite ISD; Carolyn Slavin, Librarian, Reed Elementary, Leander ISD; Mike Mendez and Jenny Stafford, Co-Librarians, Paschal High School, Fort Worth ISD; and Kristi Starr, Librarian, Coronado High School, Lubbock ISD will lead this free, interactive discussion.
We will take questions posted via the chat during the session. You can also submit questions in advance via this Google form.
