2024 LiFTA ANNUAL CONFERENCE STIPEND – LAYPERSON
The Library Friends, Trustees, and Advocates Round Table (LiFTA) is pleased to offer a stipend of $600 to attend the 2024 Annual Conference of the Texas Library Association on April 16-19, 2024 in San Antonio. Please consider the following information and submit your application! Deadline is March 1, 2024.

Stipend Requirements
- For Trustees, Friends, Lay Advocates, Volunteers (not for paid librarians or library workers)
- Texas resident and TLA member (further details below)
- First time attendees given priority
- Must register for and attend the LiFTA Opening Author Luncheon at Annual Conference
- Must attend LiFTA’s Annual Conference Business Meeting
- Attend, as able, the Conference Opening Session (not required).
- Join the LiFTA Round Table unit with your TLA membership
- Serve on the LiFTA Conference Stipend selection committee the following year
Money can be applied toward
- TLA membership (if not already a member) Texas Library Association Membership
- Conference registration, including LiFTA Opening Author Luncheon Texas Library Association Conference
- Transportation
- Hotel
- Meals
- Any other costs associated with attending the TLA Conference
Timeline
- September, 2023 through February 29, 2024: Stipend publicized and application open
- March 1, 2023: Applications due
- March 15, 2023: Stipend recipient announced
- March 18, 2023: All other applicants notified
- April 16-19, 2023: TLA Annual Conference
- TBD – Attend the follow-up LiFTA Business Meeting (usually scheduled 30-60 days after the Annual Conference). During this meeting, present a written or oral report about your conference experience.
Funds
Recipient will receive reimbursement for conference expenses, after conference is over.
