We are excited to introduce the 2026 TLA Member Referral Program

Bring a colleague into TLA (or welcome back a past member) and help grow our statewide community, while earning rewards and recognition for your referrals.

How it works

  1. Refer a friend to TLA Join Form

  2. Direct them to select your name in the “Referred By” field on the membership form (online or PDF).

  3. Your referral is tracked back to your member account.

  4. When the referred membership is paid in full and meets eligibility, it counts toward your rewards.

  5. Awards and credits are issued after the campaign ends (4/30/2026).

Awards, rewards, and recognition

Rewards

  • Referrers: Earn $10 in TLA Member Credit per eligible referral (delivered as a coupon code in September 2026, valid on membership items only during the 10/1/2026–12/31/2026 period).

  • New members: Receive 10% off next year’s membership dues (2027).

  • Top recrutier will receive recognition in the Texas Library Journal and TLA Engage.
Major award

  • Top Referrer Award: Free 2027 Annual Conference registration for the member who refers the most eligible members during the time period 2/2/2026 – 4/30/2026.

Eligibility overview

Member Referrals may count for:

  • Brand-new members – never joined TLA before.

  • Reactivations (returning members who have not been a member in 5 years)

To qualify as a referrer:

  • You must be a current 2026 member (renewed or joined during 10/1/2025–9/30/2026).

Terms and Conditions

What counts as a referral:

  • A referral counts when the referred member enters the referrer on the membership form and the membership dues balance is paid.
  • Only one referrer may be credited per referred membership.

Eligible referred memberships:

  • Limited to new members and reactivations (no membership in the last 5 years).
  • The referred member’s membership balance must be paid in full by April 30, 2026 to count.
  • The referred membership must be a valid, completed membership purchase (no pending/incomplete transactions).

Disqualifications / reversals

  • If the referred membership is refunded, voided, charged back, or later determined ineligible, the referral credit may be removed or adjusted.
  • Referrals that appear fraudulent or manipulated (e.g., self-referrals, duplicate accounts) may be disqualified.

Member Credit rules (coupon code)

  • Member Credit is issued as a coupon code (one-time use) after the campaign ends.
  • Valid on membership items only.
  • Valid window: 10/1/2026–12/31/2026.
  • Must be redeemed by expiration (unused credit does not roll over).
  • Can be used on membership join or renewals – will not cover additional unit purchases, donations or event registrations.
  • Can not be combined with another coupon code or discount.
