2020 Little Maverick Graphic Novel Reading List Released
Graphic novels are increasingly being hailed as a way to make reading more inclusive: they can motivate reluctant readers and English learners, give dyslexic students multiple clues to the story line and breathe fresh life into classics written a century ago. Graphic novels have the ability to welcome everyone into a reading conversation.
The 2020 Little Maverick Graphic Novel Reading List is a recommended reading list of graphic novels designed for children in grades K-5. These 52 books were selected by public and school librarians who are members of the Texas Library Association’s Children’s Round Table, which promotes services to children and young people.
From the fizzy joy of Narwhal’s Otter Friend to the intricate illustrations of Pilu of the Woods, there is something on the list to please every elementary child.
