2023 Lariat Adult Fiction Reading List Released
The 2023 Lariat Adult Fiction Reading List is here!
Since 2009, the goal of the Lariat Adult Fiction Reading List is to highlight outstanding fiction that is “simply a pleasure to read.” To that end, a committee of librarians from the Texas Library Association annually selects 25 outstanding fiction titles.
In The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas, Beatriz moves into Haciendo San Isidro full of optimism for her life with her new husband, ignoring the rumors of his first wife’s sudden demise. But the home is not the refuge she is hoping for. Can a young priest, Padre Andres, help her fight off the malevolent spirits haunting her new home? Jane Austen fans will delight in The Murder of Mr. Wickham, where author Claudia Gray kills off the villain from Pride and Prejudice in a fun mystery featuring many of Austen’s most beloved characters and their children. In The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley, Jess arrives in Paris to find her brother Ben missing. As she begins to investigate his disappearance, she learns intimate details of the other residents of the Paris apartment building where Ben lives – and everyone’s a suspect.
