The Texas Library Association is pleased to announce the results of our 2026 elections. These individuals will take office at the close of the 2026 TLA Annual Conference in March in Houston. Thank you to everyone that ran for office, and to all members that voted. 

TLA Executive Board 

  • President-Elect: Kate Horan, Library Director, McAllen Public Library 
  • Treasurer: Daniel Schwartz, Managing Librarian, Owen R. Hopkins Library, Corpus Christi Public Libraries 
  • Representative-at-Large, School: Wenndy Pray, Librarian, Mission Consolidated Independent School District 
  • Representative-at-Large, Special: Megan Firestone, Head of Distinctive Collections, Archives, and Digital Initiatives, Southwestern University 

TLA Unit Election Results 

The following units had contested offices and chose to participate in the TLA 2026 online elections. 

Texas Association of School Librarians (TASL) 

  • Chair-Elect: Amanda Trowbridge, Facilitator of Library Services, Keller ISD 
  • Secretary: Rachael Welsh, Librarian, Pearland ISD 

Public Libraries Division (PLD) 

  • Chair-Elect: Carolyn Booker, Director of Library Services, Lewisville Public Library 

College and University Libraries Division (CULD) 

  • Councilor Alternate: Kaitlyn Carpenter, Public Services Librarian, University of St. Thomas
