Leadership program for library professionals with less than five years of experience

This TLA leadership program is designed for library professionals with less than five years of experience. Participants will learn and expand leadership skills which will serve them throughout their careers through group work, self-directed learning, and internal reflection.  Each session will be taught by a dynamic leader in the field.

Goals:

  • Expand understanding on leadership topics: equity, diversity, and inclusion, communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and influence.
  • Collaborate with library professionals from all library types in a virtual environment.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Through group work, self-directed learning, and internal reflection, students will:

  • Increase awareness of personal leadership capacity and influence.
  • Explore effective interpersonal communication strategies.
  • Enhance teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Apply leadership knowledge and skills to a changing environment.
