TLA Summit provides a unique vantage point to view the vast and ever-evolving landscape of library work. No matter what type of library you work in, or where you are in your professional career, if you are committed to continuous improvement of your library – you should be at TLA Summit.
This one-day virtual conference is designed to bring together experts from around the country to discuss new developments, complex challenges, and best practices of librarianship such as:
- Serving neurodiverse users
- Preparing for materials challenges in a polarized world
- AI and library services
- OER initiatives and policies
- and more
This program, with over 50 professional development sessions, aims to nurture, energize, and strengthen you and your library team. The full-day virtual conference will be June 2 and sessions will be available for viewing for 30 days after the event.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Is your library doing something innovative? Have the past two years changed the way you think about the way you do business? Are you a subject matter expert interested in presenting to your colleagues?
Your expertise has a place at TLA Summit! The call for proposals is open to any individual wanting to share their expertise with librarians, you do not have to be a TLA member or reside in Texas.
Over 50 general education sessions will be offered at TLA Summit. Proposals are peer reviewed, scored and selected by members of the Texas Library Association Summit Jury.
Apply to present for a 50-minute session and help shape the education for your fellow library professionals.
Accepted general education speakers receive:
- Complimentary TLA Summit registration.
- Registration is non-transferable.
- Visibility to TLA Summit attendees.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: February 23, 2022
Contributed Paper sessions provide a forum for TLA members to present and publish their research in the Texas Library Journal. This year, contributed paper sessions will be part of the TLA Summit. More information about submissions coming soon.
TLA Summit Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received on or before May 1, 2022 will receive a refund, less a 20% administrative fee. Registrations made after May 1, 2022 are non-refundable. All cancellations must be made in writing (email) to TLA on or before May 1, 2022. No phone request can be accepted.
Transfers of registrations to another individual must be made in writing (email) by May 31, 2022 to Christy Reynolds. No phone requests can be accepted. The individual submitting the substitution request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution.
TLA reserves the right to cancel all or any part of this event if there is insufficient registration or for other reasons. If TLA must cancel the event, TLA will transfer the registration to a similar virtual or in-person event(s) of equal or greater value than the original registration price paid within the 2022 calendar year.
