District 4

Serving South Texas and the Rio Grande Valley.

Welcome to District 4! Our district’s membership includes librarians, staff, trustees, full-time library students, and other interested individuals representing school, public, academic, and special libraries. We are located in South Texas.

District 4 includes 26 Texas counties: Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Calhoun, Cameron, De Witt, Duval, Goliad, Gonzales, Hidalgo, Jackson, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Lavaca, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, Victoria, Webb, Willacy, and Zapata.

Annual Meeting

Join us on October 31-November 1, 2019 for our annual fall meeting. We will host a social on Thursday evening, and the program and business meeting will be Friday. All events are at the Embassy Suites by Hilton McAllen Convention Center.

Conference Stipend

The District 4 TLA stipend is designed to assist currently enrolled library/information science school students to attend the Texas Library Association Conference that is held in Texas every year by covering the cost of the registration fee and one-night hotel stay. The number of award recipients and whether the award will include both regional and state conferences will be determined by the amount raised through district-wide fundraisers annually.

The award will cover the rate of the conference student registration fee and one-night conference approved hotel accommodation, but will not exceed it. Learn more
