The Queers and Allies Round Table (Q&A RT, formerly GLBT RT) addresses issues of concern to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and ally library staff and patrons. Issues addressed may include fairness and discrimination in personnel decisions and in collections; censorship; collection development; networking; and sharing information. We provide a welcoming and supportive community for all LGBTQIA TLA members and serve as a resource for librarians addressing the needs of LGBTQIA patrons.
The Q&A Advocacy Award recognizes an individual or organization that has shown exceptionalism in uplifting and honoring the LGBTQIA+ community through recent or ongoing efforts in education, advocacy, and/or outreach. The first ever Q&A Advocacy Award recipient will receive an honorary plaque at the Annual Conference in 2026.
