In celebration of TLA’s 100 year anniversary in 2002, an ad hoc Centennial Celebration Committee was charged with planning and coordinating events that captured the spirit of TLA’s rich history and dynamic future. Part of the committee’s work in preserving the past was to honor 100 giants who made significant contributions to libraries and library service during the 1902-2002 period. link opens in a new window1902-2002: 100 Years in Progress
In 2016, the Retired Librarians Round Table initiated an annual social and educational event to be held at annual conference to honor these giants of our profession. It is titled, link opens in a new windowCelebrating Library Pioneers.
